Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi’s move to Borussia Dortmund is now “90 to 95 percent” certain, according to Sky Sport Deutschland journalist Max Bielefeld.
The 19-year-old has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, but it appears a switch to Dortmund is looking very likely.
Most supporters on Twitter are disappointed with Bielefeld’s report and can’t understand why Adeyemi is keen on a transfer back to Germany:
Small mentality, sad

Lord knows why these players go to Dortmund, they’re not even a good stepping stone anymore.
All of the players to move away from Dirtmund to a big club over the last 5 years have failed

Who dreams of playing in Germany ffs it’s a 2 team league

Maybe he sees BL as a stepping stone to a move to PL or La Liga.

Very good move for his development tbh. He’d be guaranteed game time at Dortmund whereas if he were to join us he wouldn’t really get a chance right now maybe only during AFCON and then he’ll be on the bench.

It does appear as though Adeyemi is looking to prove himself in his homeland before going further afield, which seems fair enough considering that he is still a teenager.
Liverpool are thought to be keen on recruiting a forward in January but it seems clear that they will have to move on to other targets, unless a last-minute hitch occurs.
Adeyemi would certainly have fit the Reds’ style of play, with his speed and finishing ability leading to him scoring 15 goals in 25 appearances this campaign.
