Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham but Jurgen Klopp’s reluctance to sign players from his former club could scupper the move, according to reports in Germany.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are also believed to be keen on the 18-year-old and fans on Twitter can’t understand why the Reds would allow their rivals to snap up such a promising young player:
Makes no sense. So Klopp would be happy to see him go to United or Chelsea then.?

This makes no sense as if you don’t sign them, they’ll just end up at your rivals.

Whether Liverpool would have the funds to finance a move for Bellingham, anyway, it is debatable. Reports suggest that Dortmund are not interested in selling both the England international and Erling Haaland in the same summer so a large transfer fee would be required.
Some have suggested that it could cost a team around £80m to snap up the teenager and, for that price tag, it is highly unlikely that the Reds would get involved. Were there to be a way of signing Bellingham for a more modest figure, though, it does appear Klopp’s hesitancy to sign Dortmund players would get in the way.
