Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni “is not a priority” for Real Madrid this summer, according to Spanish journalist Sergio Santos.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with the France international but it has been claimed that Real are the favourites to secure his signature. Santos, though, believes that the La Liga club won’t enter a bidding war for a player who would, initially, only be used as a substitute:
Tchouameni gusta al Madrid, pero ahora mismo NO es una prioridad.
Sólo llegará si es a un precio razonable (algo que no se da ahora). En ningún caso el Madrid entrará en una puja fuera de mercado por un jugador que llegaría inicialmente con rol de suplente.

It’s an interesting new development on Tchouameni. Multiple news outlets in the UK have now mentioned Tchouameni as a target for Liverpool, with many respected journalists suggesting that the 22-year-old is being watched ahead of the summer transfer window.
The prospect of a move to Anfield has been played down by some due to Real’s interest but, if Santos’s sources are accurate, it does appear as if the Reds could have a better chance of signing Tchouameni than many have assumed.
