Ex-Chelsea captain John Terry has once again singled out Liverpool winger Luis Diaz for praise after his performance in the FA Cup final yesterday evening.
The Colombian was handed the man of the match award after a penalty shootout win over Terry’s former club but, despite admitting his disappointment at the Blues losing, Terry responded magnanimously when Diaz posted on Instagram, saying:
“Absolutely devastated. But you are a fantastic player my friend.”
Terry is clearly a big fan of Diaz, having previously made remarks praising the 25-year-old’s ability following his arrival at Anfield back in January.
Diaz was, undoubtedly, one of the best players on the park at Wembley yesterday, although he may have been slightly disappointed that he didn’t get on the scoresheet, considering the number of chances he had.
Even so, he will be delighted to have lifted his second cup in the space of a few months. While the Premier League title seems out of reach, Diaz could still make it a hat-trick of trophies if Liverpool win the Champions League at the end of the month.
