Liverpool are continuing to keep tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to Bild.
The German tabloid claims that the Reds are “watching his development closely” along with the likes of Real Madrid. There’s no mention of other Premier League clubs, which is interesting. The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have also been mentioned as potential suitors in recent months.
It is, however, clear that the main stumbling block going forward would be Bellingham’s asking price. Bild suggest that the teenager could be the next “over 100 million deal” for Dortmund.
€100m (£83m) is not a sum of money that Liverpool have ever paid for a player and, while Bellingham is clearly a huge talent, it would be a massive surprise if the Reds were even considering breaking their transfer record for him. It’s unlikely that the Merseyside club’s interest will develop into a formal bid anytime soon.
