Manchester City have offered Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland a contract close to €25m (£21m) a season, according to reports in the German media.
The Norwegian would be earning around €480,000 (£404,000) a week net, which would top the salary of the club’s current highest earner: Kevin De Bruyne.
Some fans on Twitter are worried that the Citizens may be paying over the odds to recruit Haaland but others are simply keen to get the forward in through the door at the Etihad:
480k per week ? Seriously?

I want him, but at the cost of the clubs salary structure? Whats stopping all of the other lads asking/demanding more money. Dangerous precedent

It is believed that City’s offer does trump proposals from other teams. They have already seen off the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in the battle to sign Haaland, and it is believed that Real Madrid are now their only real rival for the player.
Whether this huge wage proposal will be enough to secure the 21-year-old’s signature, we shall have to wait and see. Reports claim that the forward is expected to make a final decision on his future this month.
