Manchester City are unlikely to be put off by Brighton’s valuation of left-back Marc Cucurella, according to ESPN.
Despite previous reports claiming that the Seagulls will hold out for around £45m, the website believe that the south coast club would be prepared to sell the Spaniard for £35m.
It is thought that such an asking price would not be deemed as “overly problematic” for City so there is a good chance that the Premier League champions will move ahead with their attempts to sign Cucurella.
The 23-year-old has also been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks, and the fact that the defender is available for a pretty reasonable fee may tempt Thomas Tuchel’s side into making their own offer for the player.
Manager Pep Guardiola is keen to strengthen his options on the left-hand side of defence. While Joao Cancelo has done a stellar job, there is a feeling that City could do with another player who is naturally left-footed.
