Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria is aiming to leave his current club at the end of the season, according to reports in Germany.
The Swiss international is said to be looking for a new challenge and, with his current contract expiring in 2022, it is thought that he will be allowed to leave next summer.
Manchester City are thought to be weighing up a €40m (£36m) offer for Zakaria, but they will reportedly face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Any bid from the Citizens or other interested parties is thought to be dependent on the 23-year-old proving his fitness now he has recovered from a major knee injury.
The midfielder has not played since March when he had to be taken off in the 2-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund but, after returning to training, he will be looking to kick on and make an impression playing for Gladbach for the rest of the season.
