Dortmund head coach Marco Rose has revealed that Erling Haaland has not made a decision over where he will be playing his football next season.

Real Madrid have been tipped as the frontrunners for the Norwegian’s signature, while Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have been mentioned as other possible destinations, but Rose says the player remains undecided on his future:

“With Erling, everything is on the table internally – everyone is honest with each other. Haaland will make a decision at some point – the club will prepare well for it.”

Haaland’s €75m (£63m) release clause means that speculation around the 21-year-old will be constant between now and the summer. Respected sources have confirmed City’s interest but there are a lot of factors that could make any move to the Etihad a complicated one to finalise.

Reports in France today, for example, claim that PSG are targeting Haaland as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, and their financial muscle could well tip the balance in their favour.

City are, of course, no slouches when it comes to throwing money around, but they are not expected to enter a bidding war for Haaland. If the deal proves too costly, they could move on to other targets instead.
