Four Manchester City players have been picked by WhoScored.com in their Premier League “Team of The Month” for December.
Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden were all named, as Pep Guardiola’s side negotiated the festive period expertly with seven league victories out of seven.
Sterling was given the highest score by WhoScored (8.19), having bagged five goals over the course of the month, with the 26-year-old returning to his very best after a difficult start to the campaign.
Mahrez was recognised for his four goals and three assists, whilst De Bruyne and Foden also contributed hugely to City’s excellent run of results in recent weeks.
In terms of the rest of the team, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Southampton defender Jan Bednarek, Wolves’ Romain Saiss and Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney made up the back five. Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Tottenham forward Son Heung-min were also included.
