Manchester City may find it difficult to “fend off interest from Arsenal” with Oleksandr Zinchenko keen on getting regular game time, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The local newspaper claims that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is a keen admirer of the Ukrainian international, who was left frustrated with his lack of minutes for City last season.

Zinchenko was only named in the starting eleven on 18 occasions, with manager Pep Guardiola deciding to keep the in-form Joao Cancelo in the team for long periods.

While City won’t actively look to sell Zinchenko in the summer transfer window, they never stand in a player’s way if he wants to leave, as we saw with Ferran Torres’s move to Barcelona back in January.

With the Premier League champions having been linked with Brighton defender Marc Cucurella in recent days, it does appear as if the club are already planning for life without Zinchenko.
