Manchester City Director of Football Txiki Begiristain did have a meeting with Mino Raiola last month to discuss Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist says the Citizens held talks with the super-agent, in addition to Barcelona:
Not only Barcelona. Also Manchester City director Txiki Begiristain had a meeting with Mino Raiola in February for Erling Haaland, while Real Madrid are still pushing. 🔵 #MCFC
Bayern’s Oliver Kahn met with Raiola to ask for Ryan Gravenberch.

It’s interesting to see that Romano doesn’t mention Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich, which does suggest that competition for Haaland’s signature is now far lower.
That is somewhat surprising, considering that the Norwegian international will reportedly be available for only €75m (£63m) due to a release clause that can be triggered at the end of the season.
Another source had claimed at the weekend that Haaland had whittled down his options, and it looks as though those reports are accurate. With a decision expected as soon as this month, we may not have to wait long to find out if the 21-year-old is moving to the Etihad.
