Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign River Plate forward Julian Alvarez for approximately £15m, according to multiple reports.
The Argentinian international, who has modelled his game on Sergio Aguero, is likely to sign for the Premier League champions this month before being loaned out for the rest of the season.
Some supporters on Twitter are getting excited about the prospect of the club signing Alvarez, whilst others are keeping their expectations in check:

Alvarez scored 24 goals and laid on 15 assists in 46 appearances for River Plate last campaign but, with his contract expiring at the end of the year, his club have decided to sell up now.
Manchester United had also been tipped to sign Alvarez but it appears that City have beaten their rivals to the 21-year-old’s signature. Fans will be hoping to see him step out at the Etihad in the not too distant future.
