It has been claimed that super-agent Jorge Mendes now regrets allowing Joao Felix to move to Atletico Madrid rather than Manchester City in 2019.

The Portuguese international has struggled to establish himself at the La Liga club since his £113m transfer from Benfica, and he has even been linked with moves to Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool in recent weeks.

However, some City supporters on Twitter believe that the Premier League champions should consider reviving their interest in Felix:

There is no doubt that Felix would fit Pep Guardiola’s style of play more than other forwards like Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Dusan Vlahovic.

However, the 22-year-old’s scoring record is not the best, having scored just 22 goals in 94 appearances for Atletico. Some of that is down to how the team is set up under manager Diego Simeone but it doesn’t suggest he is the prolific forward that the Citizens are looking for.

If they are going to spend over £60m on a new number nine this summer, you would think the Manchester club would go after someone with a better strike rate in front of goal.
