Jack Wilshere says he would still rejoin Arsenal if he was offered the choice to sign for either the Gunners or Manchester City now.

The ex-England international is currently training with his former club as he looks for a new team and, when asked who he would sign for, he said he’d pick Mikel Arteta’s side in an instant:

“If both Pep and Mikel Arteta rang me tomorrow, if they both offered me three-year contracts then I’m going to Arsenal.”

It’s not a surprising response from Wilshere, considering his strong roots to the club, but the vast majority of players these days would choose the Etihad over the Emirates, simply due to the massive gulf in quality between the two sides.

The sad truth is, though, Wilshere won’t be in the sights of either team. The former West Ham midfielder has struggled to find a club since being released by Bournemouth last summer.

At this present time, a club in America, Australia or mainland Europe is a more likely destination for the 29-year-old.
