Ex-Manchester United midfielder Kleberson doesn’t believe Leicester’s Youri Tielemans would be making a wise decision if he does make a move to Old Trafford this summer.
The Belgian international has been heavily linked with the Red Devils, Liverpool and Arsenal in recent weeks but Kleberson thinks that another team, Chelsea, would be a better fit for Tielemans:
“Youri Tielemans is not at a big club. Leicester City don’t have the pulling power that some of the other Premier League teams possess. I could see Tielemans going to Chelsea because their style would suit him. When you watch Chelsea play, they are more comfortable with the ball. A move to Manchester United would be a really big risk for him, and Liverpool already have players who can control games and dictate the play.”
To be honest, Kleberson is jumping the gun somewhat in terms of judging whether United would fit Tielemans’ style of play. The Manchester club don’t have a manager in place for next season yet and it may be someone who could get the best out of the Belgian.
The midfielder is expected to leave the Foxes at the end of the season. He has less than eighteen months remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium and there is no indication that he’ll sign an extension.
Due to the length of time remaining on his current deal, it is believed that Tielemans may only cost around £34m, which would be a bargain considering the 24-year-old’s ability.
