Antonio Conte would only say ‘yes’ to becoming Manchester United manager if he was given a straight choice between the Red Devils and Newcastle, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport reporter Alfredo Pedulla.
The Italian journalist, who has a patchy record when it comes to accuracy, claims that if the position did open up at Old Trafford, Conte would be prepared to take on the role midseason:

Pedulla suggests there are at least nine players that Conte would be happy to work with, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Raphael Varane, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Alex Telles.
There is no mention of club captain Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka or David De Gea but it is said that Conte doesn’t think big changes to the playing squad are needed. The former Chelsea head coach feels more tactical instructions and organisation is all that is required to get the team competing at the right end of the table. We shall see if his enthusiasm for the United job is shared by the club’s board if Solskjaer is sacked.
