Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has cast major doubt on whether he would be interested in moving to Manchester United.
The Red Devils (along with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City) are thought to be pursuing the teenager but, when asked by a United fan if he was moving to Old Trafford, Bellingham replied:
“Don’t be silly.”
Of course, that off-the-cuff remark may not completely rule out a switch to United, but the fact that Bellingham chose to say anything at all is concerning.
Usually, players don’t respond to such questions, as they want to keep their options open so they don’t live to regret their comments in the future.
By dismissing the notion of a switch to United completely, Bellingham seems to be suggesting he has no intention of moving to Manchester.
Circumstances can change, though. If Ralf Rangnick helps the club to finish the season strongly, and a new manager comes into the club and revitalises things, Bellingham may have a different attitude to a potential transfer.
