Barcelona are the favourites to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this summer, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
Both Manchester United and Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Portuguese international over the past year, but Ornstein says Barca are his “most likely destination” at the moment.
Wolves are expected to sell Neves if a “suitable offer” comes along. The 25-year-old will have been at the club for five years at the end of the season and there is an “acceptance” that he should be allowed to leave for a team playing in the Champions League.
Interested clubs are currently holding talks with agents working as intermediaries for the player and it appears Barcelona have the edge.
United’s interest is probably dependent on the identity of the club’s next manager. The Red Devils are keen to complete their recruitment process within the next few weeks but decisions on summer signings are a long way from being made.
