Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne could well end up at either Manchester United or Inter Milan when his contract expires next June, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 30-year-old, who played a key role as Italy won Euro 2020, is likely to be available on a free transfer at the end of the season after talks over a new deal with Napoli stalled.

Insigne, who has also been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks, has been demanding around €7m a year (approximately £114,000 a week) but that is believed to be a lot more than Napoli are prepared to pay.

Whether United actually need someone like Insigne, it is questionable. The Italian international generally plays off the left-wing and the Red Devils are well stocked in that area.

With Marcus Rashford back to full fitness, there are at least five players in the senior squad who can play in the position, including Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Jesse Lingard, and even Cristiano Ronaldo.
