Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has warned interested clubs that they will have to pay top dollar to secure the signing of Eduardo Camavinga this summer.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all believed to be interested in the 18-year-old but, despite the fact that the player has less than a year left on his contract, Holveck says they won’t let him go for a low transfer fee:

“Discussions are still ongoing, everything is open, either for a departure during this transfer window – if an offer satisfies everyone – or to extend [Camavinga’s deal]. He won’t leave for cheap, we’ve had a lot of discussions but nothing is complete one way or another.”

Reports in France suggest Rennes want at least €40m (£34m) for Camavinga, and it seems no team is prepared to pay that figure at the moment.

The teenager is also said to have his heart set on a move to Paris Saint-Germain or Spain so it looks as though United may have a hard time persuading him to make the switch to Old Trafford, even if they do reach an agreement with Rennes.

From Holveck’s comments, It does appear Camavinga’s future won’t be sorted out anytime soon.
