Juventus have confirmed that Manchester United will pay Cristiano Ronaldo’s €15m (£12.9m) transfer fee over a five-year period.
It means that the Portuguese international will only cost the Red Devils £2.58m per year, with an additional €8m (£6.87m) in potential bonuses based on performances.
Considering Juve spent €100m on Ronaldo just three years ago, it is a superb deal, even though the forward is now 36 years of age. Fans on Twitter are not quite sure how United managed to get the player so cheaply:
How’d we pull that off then ??

Of course, Ronaldo’s value will be dependent on what he does on the pitch but, despite the Portuguese star being near the end of his career, there is every indication that he will prove to be a worthwhile addition.
Last season for Juventus, Ronaldo scored 36 in all competitions. While he may not necessarily hit those heights in the Premier League, he will undoubtedly contribute a fair few goals.
