Manchester United have interviewed Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag but a final decision has yet to be made on the club’s next permanent manager, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist claims that other candidates will also hold discussions with the club, but a lot of fans on Twitter believe the Dutchman should be handed the reins:
it’s a step in the right direction we need to give him time

Don’t interview other candidates, just take him!!!

Why even bother when we’ve just supposedly already interviewed the best candidate. Interviewing others is pretty pointless imo

For goodness sake just pull the trigger so we can start planning for next season. United basically gave up on the season in November so why are they waiting to plan for next season until the summer?

Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino, Spain manager Luis Enrique and Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui are also said to be on United’s shortlist so they are likely to be interviewed in the coming days and weeks too.
There has been some dispute in the English media over whether Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel is also in the frame. A couple of respected journalists have, though, confirmed that the German is under consideration.
Ten Hag remains the odds-on favourite to get the job, though, and after reportedly impressing in his interview, it seems it would be a surprise if he wasn’t appointed now.
