Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes Manchester United are now out of the race for the top four after the weekend defeat to Arsenal.

Ralf Rangnick‘s side are six points off the Gunners after the 3-1 loss on Saturday, having also played a game more than their rivals. Redknapp says the battle for Champions League qualification is now a two-way fight between Arsenal and Tottenham:

“I think you can write off Manchester United, they are right out of the equation. I think it is between Arsenal and Tottenham.”

Considering Rangnick also dismissed the club’s chances of finishing fourth, following the result at the Emirates, it’s almost certain that the Red Devils will be playing either Europa League or Europa Conference League football next season.

Whether that will impact the club’s transfer budget or the ability to attract certain targets as part of Erik ten Hag’s rebuild, will shall have to wait and see. Failing to qualify for the Champions League is a major disappointment but not a surprise, considering how poorly United have played this campaign.
