Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw suffered a concussion in the 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.
The 26-year-old was substituted midway through the second half at Old Trafford and he is now a major doubt for England’s World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino. He should, however, be available for United’s next match after the international break versus Watford.
Edinson Cavani did not feature at the weekend after picking up a knock in the 2-2 draw against Atalanta, and no estimate has been given on when the Uruguayan international will make his comeback.
The Atalanta fixture also had another victim in Raphael Varane. The France international sustained a hamstring injury just before halftime in the Champions League group match.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer estimates that the 28-year-old will be out for at least four to five weeks so he is likely to be back in action in the first week of December.
