Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane has been pictured back in training ahead of Saturday’s game against Tottenham.
The Frenchman has not played since sustaining a groin injury in the Nations League final against Spain. He has since missed the matches against Leicester, Atalanta and Liverpool.
Considering the Red Devils’ leaky defence, which has conceded 11 goals in the past three fixtures, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will very much welcome Varane’s return to the fold.
Anthony Martial remains a doubt for the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Solskjaer did say on Sunday that he was hopeful the Frenchman would be back for “next weekend” suggesting he could make the matchday squad to face Spurs.
Amad Diallo is fit again after a thigh problem, but the Ivorian international’s recovery is being managed carefully, and he is expected to feature for the Under 23s over the coming days and weeks before returning to first-team action.
