The Ligue One side are reportedly hoping for a bidding war between the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid in order to get the figure they want:

The new asking price is slightly above the one quoted by Fabrizio Romano a few days ago. The Italian journalist claimed United were hoping to do a deal for around €30m (£26m).

It is unlikely that the €10m increase will make much of a term difference in terms of their interest in Camavinga but, at this stage, no official bids have been made for the 18-year-old.

PSG are said to be the teenager’s preferred destination, as the player wants to stay in France but there has been no suggestion that the Ligue One side will follow up their interest with a formal offer.

For that reason, United are said to be still favourites for Camavinga’s signature but they know it won’t be an easy deal to complete.

Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in Declan Rice, who’s awaiting our bids even as West Ham continue to hold fast on their £100m+ asking price. Neither club are likely to meet that, even though he’s reported to be the first-choice target for both the clubs, and though Rice may not be willing to sign an extension, he may also not be pushing to leave just yet. Time is certainly on his side, with three years left on his current deal, and Europa League football beckoning next season.

One alternative target — cheaper, younger, more available, and perhaps even more promising — is Stade Rennais’ is Eduardo Camavinga. The 18-year-old is sure to leave this summer after refusing to extend his contract and putting his team in a situation where they’d lose him for free in 12 months’ time.

Rennes most certainly don’t want that to happen, but they’re also hoping to generate a bidding war first, so they don’t have to settle for €30m. That’s how much Manchester United are supposedly willing to bid, but Rennes are reportedly “unlikely” to accept. But that’s low enough of a starting point to surely entice other teams to take notice, with both Chelsea and PSG said to be keeping tabs and possibly in contact with the midfielder’s agent as well. Real Madrid have been linked as well, though Marca claim that they are not looking to make a bid right now.
