Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has struggled for form over recent weeks and he was particularly poor against Norwich City at the weekend, giving the ball away on a number of occasions.
The Portuguese international has scored just one goal and contributed no assists in his last six league games and supporters on Twitter have been discussing whether he should be benched for tomorrow’s match against Brentford:
Correct, bruno needs to be dropped, nobody is above being dropped and bruno has been one of our worst performers this season

Bruno hasn’t been good but he carried us for two years… Deserves our patience

Tbh, if Bruno gets dropped then he gets dropped. He hasn’t played well in a while.

Bruno is my favorite player but I wouldn’t be against dropping him. I don’t doubt that he can work in this system but he needs to recharge or something. It won’t take him long to come back and be elite again. We have people that can play in the meantime

Yeah lets drop by far our most creative player when we create f all chances as it is. Jesus sone people. The one player who has to be dropped is Rashford. Get Greenwood ahead of him

Of course, with the virus outbreak inside the United dressing room, there is no telling who will be available anyway but manager Ralf Rangnick does have a decision to make on Fernandes.
Playing as one of the roaming number 10s hasn’t really suited the 27-year-old so far, and there are question marks over whether the midfielder can actually fit into Rangnick’s 4-2-2-2 formation.
Donny van de Beek has been waiting in the wings for a long time and, if the Dutchman is available for the Brentford game, he could start ahead of Fernandes tomorrow evening.
