Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick agrees that the club should press forward with their attempts to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice, according to The Sun.
The English tabloid believe that the Manchester club have been tracking the England international for a while, and Rangnick has given his approval to push ahead with plans to make a move for the player next summer.
It is felt that the West Ham’s poor form in recent weeks may have improved the Red Devils’ chances of snapping up Rice, as the 22-year-old is keen on playing in the Champions League.
Things are still quite uncertain, though, as United are still three points behind the Hammers themselves (albeit having played two games fewer). Any deal for Rice would probably hinge on Rangnick’s men finishing in the top four ahead of their rivals.
There are also other obstacles. West Ham would expect a minimum of £100m to sell the midfielder, whilst there is likely to be competition from Chelsea and Manchester City.
