Manchester United will have to see off a “mutiny” if Paul Pogba agrees to stay at Old Trafford and signs a lucrative new deal, according to The Mirror.

The Frenchman is out of contract in June but the Red Devils are believed to have offered an extension, which could be worth up £500,000 a week, including bonuses.

Pogba has yet to make a decision on his future but, if he does opt to stay and put pen to paper on the new deal, the amount he will be paid will likely exceed everyone else in the dressing room.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently earning the most at £450,000 a week but it looks as if Pogba’s wages will even top that. For a player who has not always looked 100% committed to United, it is believed the extension would not sit well with his teammates.

Whether there is any truth to these claims from the Mirror, we shall have to wait and see. Considering United’s past decisions on contracts, it would not be a shock if they have offered Pogba such a high salary, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will lead to a revolt.
