Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes his teammate Aurelien Tchouameni has all the qualities required to be a top player.
Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with the 22-year-old in recent weeks and, asked about Tchouameni’s ability, Fabregas was full of praise for the France international:
“He has the potential to be the complete midfielder. He’s a modern midfield player.”
Tchouameni is believed to be valued at between €60m (£50m) and €70m (£58m) by Monaco, but those sort of figures are unlikely to put off United, who will be in the market for at least one central midfield player this summer.
Nemanja Matic has confirmed that he will be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season, while Paul Pogba is also out of contract, leaving Fred and Scott McTominay as the club’s only two options in the middle of the park.
Tchouameni does have other suitors in addition to United and Chelsea, though, with Real Madrid and Liverpool having been mentioned as potential destinations as well, so we shall see who wins the race for the Frenchman.
