Manchester United will make an attempt to sign Tottenham forward Harry Kane this summer regardless of who the manager is, according to reports in England.
The 28-year-old will have two years remaining on his current deal at Spurs at the end of the season and it is believed that he could be signed for a fee close to £100m.
While some supporters on Twitter would back a move for Kane, a sizeable number have questioned why the club are making decisions about transfers before they have a manager in place for next season:
This is definitely happening btw. Not saying i agree but this is the type of transfer only we do

Only Manchester United would think this is a good idea

Kane for prob 90-100 mil will ruin our summer window. This is no better than signing rice for the same price !!!

I absolutely like Harry Kane but if it’s not the manager’s wish to get him we shouldn’t get him. As simple as it is

Only sign him if the manager wants him..this is why we are filled with a bunch of overrated players in the squad.

This club. This is what they do! Later fans will say the manager was backed. What if the new manager doesn’t want Kane? This is their modus operandi

Typical united board signing.!!
Whats the point of DoF and rangnick as a consultant if ur focus is only on shirt sales..!!!— Singh🔰 (@Singhbusby_19) March 28, 2022
So spend all our budget on a shirt seller

Some of you ignored the red flag when Bruno was being given a contract without a manager confirmed. Now there is this. If you continue to remain blind to the fact that these owners will change well I’m sorry for you

Same old Glazers “great idea” let’s spend 200M on Kane and Rice and let’s not address all the other problems at the club. Rangnick should be running the club not this 🤡🤡

It does seem very strange that the club’s board are already eyeing transfer targets when they haven’t even appointed a permanent head coach yet.
Kane is undoubtedly a world-class player but, with Cristiano Ronaldo likely to stay at Old Trafford for another year, how could both players fit in the same team? It does smack of the board trying to appease fans with a marquee signing and leaving the next manager to clear up the mess.
