Manchester United will try and tempt Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger with a lucrative contract offer, according to reports in the English media.
The German international is out of contract at the end of the season, and he is not happy about the terms proposed by the Blues, who are looking to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger wants in excess of £200,000 a week as he feels that his performances warrant him being among the best paid at the club, but Chelsea has so far not offered above £150,000 a week.
United could give the 28-year-old what he wants, but there are a number of issues that could stop any move to Old Trafford going ahead.
Clubs from abroad, such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain can already hold formal talks with Rudiger, in view to a pre-contract agreement. There is also claims that the player wouldn’t consider joining another Premier League team. It remains to be seen, then, whether United would stand any chance of securing the centre-back’s signature.
