Manchester United are among “several important clubs” who are interested in signing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan publication claims that the Red Devils, along with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool are all lining up moves for the Ivorian international.

Milan are said to be increasingly pessimistic about keeping Kessie, with contract negotiations having stalled in recent months and, with his current deal set to expire in June, he will be available on a free transfer next year.

The Rossoneri have even identified a potential successor in Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara, and Mundo Deportivo report that the Serie A club may be tempted into selling Kessie when the January transfer window opens.

Barca are said to have around €16m (£13.6m) to €20m (£17m) available to fund a move for a midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether that would be enough to clinch a deal for Kessie. The Ivorian will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement in the New Year anyway so United could just as easily secure his signature.
