Manchester United are “particularly interested” in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to Calciomercato.it.

The 22-year-old, who played a key role in helping Italy win Euro 2020, is not first choice for PSG, with manager Mauricio Pochettino opting to rotate him with Keylor Navas.

Donnarumma was once again on the bench for the 1-1 draw against Lens yesterday evening and it seems a departure from the Parc des Princes at the end of the season is a possibility.

Calciomercato claim that David De Gea could well leave United in the summer, paving the way for Donnarumma to become the undisputed number one at Old Trafford.

The Italian international only joined PSG in July, after previously being linked with Chelsea, and it remains to be seen whether he does decide to move on from the Ligue One side so soon after arriving.

It would be interesting to see what happens if Pochettino is appointed United manager at the end of the season. Donnarumma’s lack of minutes for PSG suggest that he would turn down a move to Manchester were that to happen.
