Manchester United are still interested in signing Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Red Devils were linked with the Nigerian international in the same publication last month. Now, the Italian newspaper claims that, despite United being keen on the striker, rivals Arsenal may “trigger” their own attempt to sign the player:
Osimhen all’Arsenal può innescare il domino dei centravanti #calciomercato https://t.co/k2NLfBXMB7

There are a couple of things to unpack here. Firstly, Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City so an offer for Osimhen is unlikely at this stage, unless the Gunners miss out on their number one target.
On top of that, Osimhen’s price tag is reportedly €100m (£85m). Considering United have a limited transfer budget, and are not prioritising a move for a striker, you’d have to say that a bid for the Napoli star is not on the cards, unless they raise funds from potential sales.
