Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard remains a keen admirer of Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, according to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge.
Gerrard brought the Finnish international to Ibrox for just £50,000 in 2019, but some reports have now estimated his value at around £15m.
When asked about the chances of Villa making a bid for Kamara in the New Year, Bridge did not go as far as to say that a move was in the works, but he is certain that Gerrard will be keeping a close eye on the 26-year-old:
“He’s a big fan of Kamara, a big, big fan of Kamara.”
Kamara did sign a new contract back in September but there are rumours that a release clause could have been included in the deal, although that hasn’t been substantiated by any credible sources.
If there is one, though, Gerrard would be aware of it, which will be a concern for the Gers who will be keen to keep hold of the former Arsenal academy graduate.
