Rangers left-back Borna Barisic will be scouted by Arsenal, Aston Villa, Wolves and Leeds during the European Championships, according to reports in England.

All four English Premier League teams are believed to be looking at strengthening their options on the left-hand side of defence, and they have identified Barisic as a potential target.

The Croatian international was not in the matchday squad for his country’s first group game against England on Sunday, with manager Zlatko Dalic confirming after the 1-0 defeat that the 28-year-old missed out due to a back injury.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard may be secretly hoping that Barisic does not participate in Croatia’s upcoming matches against the Czech Republic and Scotland, so as to ensure his player doesn’t attract the attention of scouts.

He will be keen to keep hold of the fullback, who was superb as the Light Blues clinched title number 55 last season, scoring five goals and providing an impressive 14 assists in 50 appearances.
