Lille are “plotting a fresh bid” for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, according to the Daily Express. It was thought the Ligue One side had cooled their interest in the Colombian after they signed Jonathan David from Gent, but it is now thought a new offer will be made soon.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard was originally content with Morelos’s attitude despite the speculation surrounding his future but speaking at his pre-match press conference yesterday, he now admits the player is not 100% focused:

“I’m disappointed the player has had his head turned and doesn’t look himself. That’s the only thing I’m concerned about. But in terms of how Lille or anyone else go about their business in trying to get Alfredo’s services, it’s not in my control and I shouldn’t concern myself with it.”

Luckily, Rangers do have cover following the signings of Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten but losing such a potent attacking weapon like Morelos will be a blow to Gerrard. The striker hit the back of net 29 times in all competitions last campaign and has already scored twice this season.

It will be interesting to see whether the Colombian international features in the matchday squad when the Light Blues face Kilmarnock at Ibrox later today.
