Rangers’ interest in Heerenveen midfielder Joey Veerman have been fueled by “continued doubts” over the future of Glen Kamara, according to the Glasgow Times.

Veerman could cost as much as £7m if the Gers do manage to agree a deal for the 22-year-old and it appears he is being looked at as a contingency plan if they do end up losing Kamara.

The Glasgow Times claims the Finnish international is being scouted by both West Ham and Watford, while other sources have reported that the former Arsenal player has also been watched by the likes of Brentford, Everton and Leeds.

A decision will need to be made on Kamara‘s future if he continues to stall on signing a new deal. His current contract expires in 2023 but it does not look like he will extend his stay at Ibrox.

With Rangers expecting to get at least £10m for the 25-year-old, that would be more than enough to fund a move for Veerman.
