Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has revealed he will need to make a late decision over whether to include midfielder Ryan Jack in the squad for the game against Benfica tomorrow night.

The 28-year-old is carrying a knock and is a doubt for the Europa League clash, and Gerrard said at his pre-match press conference that he will have to decide on his inclusion later today:

“Ryan Jack is a doubt, we won’t know until later today if [he’s] available.”

Jack has been a key player for the Light Blues, starting 14 matches in all competitions this season, but he may have to sit this game out as his team look to seal qualification for the knockout stages.

Gerrard also confirmed that Bongani Zungu won’t be available. The Rangers boss had hoped to have the player back for the game at Ibrox but the South African international has not been able to recover in time from a knee injury. It’s believed he will now return to training next week.
