Rangers forward Kemar Roofe’s spectacular long-range effort against Standard Liege last campaign has been shortlisted for UEFA’s Goal of the Season award.
The Englishman struck a perfectly placed shot from his own half in the 2-0 win over their Belgian opponents in the Europa League, and fans on Twitter are backing him to win:
Roofe and it’s not even close.

Roofe’s is up against nine other goals for the prize so it will be a tightly fought contest for who comes out on top. You can vote for the Rangers man by visiting the UEFA website here.
The former Leeds and Anderlecht player’s first season at Ibrox was a bit stop-start due to injuries, but when he was on the pitch, he generally delivered some very good performances.
It will be hoped that Roofe can improve his fitness record during his second campaign with the Light Blues and come up with some memorable moments, just like he did against Liege.
