Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, West Ham’s Declan Rice, Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Burnley’s James Tarkowski are being considered as the Magpies target a core of English players.
On top of that, though, Jones claims that Manchester United trio Anthony Martial, Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard, as well as Chelsea’s Ross Barkley, Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic and Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho are all on the list of potential targets.
In Morelos’s case, Rangers have already agreed to let the 25-year-old leave if a team manages to meet their asking price. With Newcastle’s newfound riches, that is not going to be a problem, so we shall see if they do make their move.
