Porto are planning a potential move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos if they sell Moussa Marega this summer, according to reports in the Portuguese media.
Newcastle, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all interested in Marega, who is keen on playing in the Premier League, and that will leave space in Porto’s squad for a replacement.
Reports in Colombia in recent days have suggested that Lille have agreed to pay a fee in the region of €20m (£18m) for Morelos but those claims have not been backed up by Scottish journalists.
It is thought the Light Blues are still waiting for Lille to come back to the table, and that will allow Porto the chance to make their move for the 24-year-old.
Whether Morelos’s £18m asking price will put off the Primeira Liga champions from making a bid, we shall have to wait and see, but it does appear the race is heating up to sign the Colombian international.
