Rangers are highly likely to be seeded for the third qualifying round of the Champions League following recent developments in the Danish Superliga title race.
FC Copenhagen would have been given the seeding due to their higher European coefficient but they are now highly unlikely to win their domestic title.
Brondby are top of the table with one game to go. They are three points ahead of Copenhagen whose goal difference is far worse, meaning it is almost impossible for them to finish first.
Rangers will, therefore, almost certainly be among the top seeds, along with the likes of Olympiakos, Dinamo Zagreb, Slavia Prague and Red Star Belgrade.
The Light Blues are, though, unlikely to be handed a seeding for the playoff round, which could be crucial. They could face Turkish champions Besiktas, Austrian title winners Red Bull Salzburg, or even Slavia in order to progress to the group stages. If they make through, though, Steven Gerrard’s side would be guaranteed at least £30m.
