Rangers are expecting to receive a bid from Trabzonspor for left-back Borna Barisic, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Turkish champions have not made their move for the Croatian (at the time of writing) but they are said to be lining up an offer for the defender, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their attempt to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League. Speaking on international duty earlier this week, Barisic left the door open to a possible move this summer:

“In football you never know, there are always some inquiries. There could be an offer that satisfies the club and me. Of course, you will leave (then) but until then it does not go further.”

Barisic was the subject of a £2m bid from Watford in the January transfer window but the proposal was rejected by Rangers, who felt that the offer didn’t match their valuation.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side are expected to hold out for at least £4m for the 29-year-old, with the money from his potential sale likely to be reinvested in other areas of the pitch.
