Porto are unlikely to make a move for Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos before the transfer window closes, according to the Daily Record journalist Steven Mair.
The reporter claims that “sources close to the player” do not think that the Primeira Liga club are in a position to make an offer for the Colombian international this month.
Morelos has been heavily linked with Porto in the Portuguese media but the Gers’ €15m (£13m) valuation is said to have put them off from trying to sign the striker.
Whether Steven Gerrard side’s exit from the Champions League last night will affect the player’s asking price, we shall have to wait and see.
There will be more pressure on the club to sell key players in order to balance the books but if Porto have withdrawn their interest in Morelos, it is not known whether other teams will enter the running to snap up the 25-year-old.
