Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has been ruled out of the game against Rangers later this week, according to reports in the German media

The Norwegian international has been sidelined with a muscular injury since the 3-2 win over Hoffenheim last month but he was expected to make his comeback at the weekend versus Union Berlin.

However, Haaland was not deemed fit enough to play in the Bundesliga fixture and it is claimed he will also miss out on the Europa League clash this coming Thursday.

Considering Dortmund will be at home in the first leg, it means the Gers’ chances of returning from Germany with the tie still in the balance have been handed a big boost.

Haaland has been lethal in front of goal this season, scoring 23 goals in 20 appearances, and there is a lot of speculation that he could move clubs this summer, with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United all tipped as potential destinations for the 21-year-old.
