Rangers have emerged as favourites to sign former West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere. The 28-year-old has left the Hammers by mutual consent after having his contract terminated, but a reliable insider source at the London club has claimed Ibrox could well be his next destination.
ExWHUemployee has been extremely reliable in providing information on transfers when it comes to West Ham and, after the news broke yesterday that Wilshere had left the Premier League side, he tweeted:
Apparently Rangers have already shown an interest in him https://t.co/BjIiaBGjhL

Of course, having interest in the player doesn’t necessarily mean the Gers will make a formal approach to sign Wilshere. The former Arsenal player’s injury record is a major concern and his wage demands could also price the Scottish club out of a move.
After also sealing a deal to sign a midfielder, Amiens’ Bongani Zungu, on loan on deadline day, manager Steven Gerrard may not feel the need to add yet another player to the squad.
