Rangers are one of four clubs interested in signing Wigan Athletic striker Kyle Joseph when his contract expires in the summer, according to reports in the UK.

The Scotland Under 19 international has been offered a new deal by the Latics but the Light Blues, along with Celtic, Tottenham and Sheffield United are all keen on snapping him up.

Joseph has only recently made his breakthrough into Wigan’s first team, having made his senior debut as a substitute against Northampton at the end of October.

Since then, he has been handed his first start by manager John Sheridan and grabbed headlines with his first hat-trick in the 4-3 win over Burton Albion last month.

It is believed that Rangers are keeping tabs on Joseph’s situation but no club has so far made a formal approach to sign the 19-year-old. The Bears could sign the teenager on a pre-contract agreement but there is clearly a lot of competition for his signature.
